Current Volunteers are invited to a Joint Training and Discussion with Elder Help and Money Management Volunteers
Sponsored by LCOG Senior & Disability Services with participation from the SDS Senior Connections staff.
Come get to know other volunteers and the SDS staff on Thursday May 7, 2015 from 3PM to 6:15PM at the Willamalane Adult Activity Center, 215 West C St. Springfield OR 97477. This is the senior center for Springfield and is at the west end of C Street, west of Pioneer Parkway & Mill St. near Island Park. Dinner will be provided from 5PM to 6:15PM
Guest speaker will be Laurel Anderson of Cascade Health Solutions on the grief and loss process that occurs with seniors, their families, and helpers. Laurel has previously worked with hospice for six years and new counseling supports are available for LCOG-SDS volunteers through the employee/volunteer assistance program of her organization. Additional topics include ideas for assisting seniors with memory loss and other issues. There will be time for sharing with other volunteers of tips that you find helpful or issues where you may want help.
Senior & Disabled Services also sponsors the Money Management program to assist seniors who live in their own places with budgeting and bill paying and their volunteers will join us for this joint training.
